Paris AW17... Haider Ackermann
Set in the dimly lit romantic settings of Galerie de Minéralogie, with only candles guiding the way to the entrance, Haider Ackermann’s AW17 collection was a classic mix of soft materials, crushed lavender velvet, shiny lacked leather and silk in an array of patterns.
Layers of separates in clashing prints made for eye-catching banker suits. Tartan was the overruling print: blanketed over purple striped tee shirts and polka dot tailored trousers.
“I’m always attracted to the elegant man, but I’m always kind of a mess.” admitted Ackermann after his wild patchwork of a show, which he said was all about getting dressed by accident and instinct in the morning. He paired block gold hoodies with magnified hounds tooth fabric and unimaginably tight trousers to make for an anarchic teddy boy look… it was all very modern day punk and we loved it!
The models sauntered down the hot pink carpet with cutting attitude, turtlenecks and tank tops. It was an elegant dishabille.
“Only fashion victims think too much about getting dressed.” Ackermann proclaimed: let’s keep this in mind (particularly on those early Monday mornings starts).
