NYE... What to wear
The 2016 version of NYE falls on a Saturday night so you should party twice as hard: we suggest turning the clock back twenty years and channelling 1996 at a quintessentially British warehouse rave. Almost as important as the tunes are the clothes: you need to be casual and cool. We suggest this denim frayed-edge Marques’Almeida dress but don’t make the mistake of thinking you need to pair this Spice Girl number with heels, that’s a massive no-no. Wear it best (and be much more practical) with a pair of classic Nike Airmax—it’s been a long year so you deserve a long night.
Skip forward 10 years and you may find yourself at a dinner party... such an occasion calls for more sophisticated attire: try this black silk Maison Kitsuné pussy bow blouse, paired with jeans or a skirt depending on how refined your dining companions are.
Or maybe you’re taking the party to the streets, either riverside in London or elsewhere in the UK. Bear the following in mind: 1) it’s going to get bloody cold 2) there’s a strong certainty it’s going to rain. We've got you covered with the incredibly snug Ten C Shearling Liner and a high-quality Scandinavian raincoat , so you can enjoy your evening dry and not completely frozen.
Finally, everyone’s favourite: the house party. Let’s be honest, sartorially anything goes. Dress to the nines if that takes your fancy—something along the lines of this snazzy Maison Kitsune camo shirt—or if you want to keep it casual try this Needles crew neck shirt in red.
