Craig Green's Uniform Lux
New to 18montrose this season is the British designer Craig Green. Born in 1986, he graduated from Central Saint Martins in London from the prestigious MA program under the late Louise Wilson. Green has garnered critical acclaim internationally, winning British Menswear Designer of the year at the 2016 British Fashion Awards, as well as the Emerging Menswear Designer award two years prior. On top of that, he was also a finalist for the 2015 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, and worked on the costumes for the latest Alien film. Green's portfolio is inspired by workwear, and he often gives simple garments like the work jacket a unique touch, with his signature quilting and strapping.
Check out some of the key garments from Craig and elevate your wardrobe this season:
Down Filled Long Coat
This incredible coat is designed to be bold and protective. Our favourite for the season, this design employs several of Green's signature motifs: it's detailed with metal hardware and bears a uniquely shaped hood, with multiple straps detailing throughout.
Cotton Workwear Jacket
Workwear is an essential part of Green's repertoire, reappearing season after season. With this design, the genius designer elevates a common basic piece into a whole new dimension. The perfect jacket that can be worn every day as a uniform.
Relaxed Tailored Trousers
Building on the concept of a uniform, Green blends the high brow and low brow. This tailored pair of trousers is a perfect case in point. Though it resembles a pair of common work trousers worn in factories around the world, it's tailoring and construction is of the highest quality, rivaling the work of Savile Row tailors.
