Coming soon...adidas Originals by Neighborhood SS18
Rekindling their long-standing partnership, adidas Originals and Japanese streetwear label Neighborhood are back with a new must-cop capsule collection for SS18.
Inspired by his youth misspent in Tokyo’s outlaw motorcycle scene, Neighborhood founder Shinsuke Takizawa has given the three-stripe sportswear a more rugged look taken from functional biker gear. Neighborhood’s iconic Thunderbolt Jacket gets a technical overhaul along with stadium jackets, track pants and a parka.
As well as the standard NBHD lettering and the classic adidas trefoil, a crest used by the Shinsengumi—an elite squad of hard AF Samurai from the 19th century—is integrated to reference the more traditional aspects of Japanese culture.
This old-school motorcycle gang mentality has been used to re-imagine four of your fave adi sneaker silhouettes. Gazelle and I-5923 models get the trademark Neighbourhood blacked-out finish, adding suede overlays to a new Primeknit construction. The NMD-R1 gets a more drastic makeover with teeth-like geometrics and serrated details. Finally, the new Chop Shop sneaker fully embraces the motorbike modification ethos by mounting a vintage adidas model onto BOOST™ midsole for a one-off hybrid.
